I like public spaces. Even though I love to escape into nature, for me most of my poems come from some kind of intersection of people and their environment....I like meeting strangers. I’ve never been one to say, "Don’t talk to strangers." I love to just talk to people even if I may never see them again....This is the care I think that any writer, including a poet, has to take. We borrow these experiences and we interpret what we see and we need to be very careful with what we do with those.
